Katie Tucker

Let me introduce myself: I’m Katie Tucker, and I own Sharp Edges Records. 👋

I first opened Sharp Edges Records recording studio to offer my artist clients a space for us to create. However, as time went on and I heard more experiences shared by artists and even engineers, I realized how important it was to offer this studio as a safe space for anyone to create.

I also wanted to start offering my expertise and network to other artists. I’ve been vocal producing, coaching, and writing music for nearly a decade. My music has been featured in many shows and streaming platforms, and one of the songs I wrote even went Double-Platinum. However, this success wasn’t without its hardships, some of which involved uncomfortable situations I never should have gone through in the first place.

I’m tired of recording studios being one of the worst places to be as a woman when they should be spaces where everyone feels at ease, inspired, and safe. I’m here to be a part of that change.

If you’re looking to work on new music in an inspiring, safe space and want someone with you throughout that process, book a session with me ✨ or with some of the amazing engineers we have to offer.

Together, we can make a difference in the music industry. One session at a time.

The following year, she opened Sharp Edges Records recording studio with the vision of creating an inspiring space for all artists, with clients including Lee Rodriguez, and Adam Lambert. Hearing troubling stories from artists and engineers about unsafe studio environments, Katie prioritized safety at the heart of her studio, making it a welcoming space where individuals of all genders, races, and sexualities can create freely and confidently. Her commitment to fostering a supportive environment extends beyond her own ventures, having partnered with Women in Music’s Safe Spaces Initiative to advocate for safer spaces across the music industry.

Katie's passion for positive change led her into philanthropy in 2023, when she organized and co-hosted an event celebrating women and LGBTQIA+ music professionals. The event featured a diverse music industry panel and a performance by Flyana Boss, with proceeds benefiting The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth.

In 2024, Katie launched No Creeps!, an event and movement advocating for mental health, safety, and inclusivity in the music industry. Its inaugural event in October raised funds for Backline, a nonprofit providing mental health resources to music professionals. Katie played a pivotal role, handling event planning, team coordination, and facilitating partnerships with nonprofits like Women In Music, The 100 Percenters, and Keychange U.S., as well as sponsors like Topo Chico and Rare Beauty. The event featured performances, including Bonnie McKee, and talks by speakers such as Adriana Arce and Ari Herstand. Katie co-hosted and oversaw production, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for over 250 attendees.

With a deep commitment to improving safety and inclusivity in the industry, Katie plans to host more events that raise awareness and support causes close to her heart. Fueled by her indomitable spirit, passion for music, and dedication to driving change, Katie Tucker is poised to leave a lasting impact on the music industry while advocating for a more compassionate future.
