PARKING
We do not have a parking lot available for the studio. Street parking is available on Lankershim Blvd (2-hour meter), as well as behind the studio on Vineland Pl (12-hour meter). There is limited free side street parking.

The studio is the second door on the left after the mailbox. Ring the Google doorbell outside the door when you arrive.

Security cameras inside the studio are running 24/7.

BATHROOM
The bathroom is outside the studio to your left. Use the first bathroom only.
If anything is missing from the bathroom, please notify the engineer.
Some additional bathroom items are available in the grey studio cabinet.
GOOGLE NEST SMART DEVICES
PLEASE only turn on/off the gear and other smart devices through the Google Nest. It’s how we operate the devices remotely.
Use vocal prompts starting with “Hey Google…”. If this doesn’t work, you can use the Google Nest screen on the computer desk.

Left side of rack – Furman power conditioner. Use Google Nest to power on/off.
GEAR 2
Right side of rack – Furman power conditioner. Use Google Nest to power on/off.
CONTROL ROOM LIGHTS
Can turn on/off and change colors.

Neon Sign. Can turn on/off.
VOCAL BOOTH LIGHTS
Can turn on/off and change colors.
CONTROL ROOM A/C
A/C can turn on/off.
ALL DEVICES
Prompt to turn on/off all devices listed above. Great to use when leaving the studio.
MANUAL DEVICES
COMPUTER
Must be turned on/off manually. To turn off, use shut down. To turn on, hold down the power button until small light in the front turns on.
CONTROL ROOM MONITOR
Turn on/off using the power button underneath the right side of the screen.
VOCAL BOOTH MONITOR
Turn on/off using the power button underneath the right side of the screen.
TV
Use the remote on the studio desk to use.
MINI FRIDGE
leave plugged in at all times, and directly into the back wall outlet. Turn the light on/off inside the door underneath the top right inside the mini fridge.
NESPRESSO
Plug into extension cord for use. You may need to unplug the microwave. Extension cord is next to the back outlet.
MILK FROTHER
Plug into the extension cord for use. You may need to unplug the microwave. Extension cord is next to the back outlet. Please wipe out with a paper towel after use (we will wash it in between sessions). CAREFUL of the small frother piece inside the milk frother as it detaches easily.
MICROWAVE
Plug directly into the back wall outlet for use, and unplug it immediately after use. There is an opening in the cabinet that the power cord is fed through
DISCO BALL
Can be turned on using the remote on top of the grey cabinet. Make sure disco ball light on the couch is plugged in.
INSTRUMENTS/MICS/CORDS
INSTRUMENTS
Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele and cajon and midi keyboards can be used in sessions. Black Gibson guitar and violin are NOT allowed to be touched or played by anyone in the studio at any time.
MICS
Mics are only allowed to be adjusted by the engineer. Neumann U87 on vocal booth stand ONLY. SM7B mic can be held and used as a session mic.
Other mics are in the black locker accessible by the engineer.

All inputs and speakers can be adjusted through the PreSonus remote on the studio desk.

TALKBACK
Use the talkback button on the PreSonus remote, or the pedal underneath the studio desk.
TALKBACK VOLUME
On the rackmount PreSonus on left side near the talkback button.
CUE

HEADPHONE VOLUME
On left side of rackmount Pre Sonus where headphone jack is connected.
If the artist can’t hear the talkback, check “phones” on pre sonus and make sure knob is set to “cue”. If it’s set to main, hit knob to set to cue. Otherwise, the talkback volume is too low.
APOLLO

Leave Apollo rackmount volume knob as is, which is slightly under max to avoid distorting the PreSonus.
MANLEY TNT
Make sure channel one phantom power is on for the Apollo vocal booth input 1.
DO NOT unplug or reroute any of the gear chain. Recording gear chain can only be used on the Sharp Edges Records computer. You can however plug in a mic to your own interface.
PLEASE put all cords and gear back exactly as you found it.
MISCELLANEOUS
CONTROL ROOM
Mini Fridge drinks are available to all session clients for free
Stickers, promo cards, disco ball keychains etc. are also free to take (except for the mugs). One per person please

Can be turned on/off with switch on the bottom of them
SALT LAMP
Can be turned on/off with switch on the cord.
LIGHT SWITCH
Please don’t turn off light switch because this powers some of the outlets.

Turns on/off the back room light
PLEASE do NOT unplug anything from the power strips
BACK ROOM
Back Room is NOT allowed to be accessed at this time. We are hoping to change this soon!
DEPARTURE
PLEASE make sure all devices EXCEPT the mini fridge (leave it plugged in, but turn off light) are turned off when leaving the studio.
Use Google Nest vocal prompt “Hey Google, turn off all devices” to turn off all smart devices.
All trash must be taken out (engineer will do this as well). Dumpster is outside of the studio door to the left at the back of the building
